Gender essentialism[1]:

the article could use a section on the predictive nature of gender essentialism in regard to sexism and gender nonconformity.

Children who had more essentialist beliefs about the nature of gender were more likely to show signs of prejudice towards nonconforming children[2]. Children raised in rural areas tended to be more prone to gender essentialism as compared to children from urban areas.[2]
