Just Riadh, or simply Riadh, is the stage name of Riadh Belaïche[1] (born July 3, 1998, in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria),[2] a French-Algerian humorist, actor, influencer and content creator.

He gained attention in 2017 by publishing humoristic videos on Instagram.[2][3][4]

Biography[edit]

Background and childhood[edit]

Born in Sidi Bel Abbès in Algeria,[2] Riadh arrived in France at the age of eight, living with his family in Drancy,[5] then moving to Magny-le-Hongre in Seine-et-Marne.[6] He aspired to become a soccer player,[5] but very soon his daily life with his middle-school classmates was filled with laughter and jokes. A few years later when he was in high school, Riadh tried to break through on social media and then gave up this plan dedicating himself to his studies.[2] After graduating from high school in 2018,[7] he started a BTS which he stopped quickly to have another go at making videos on social media.[2]

Professional career[edit]

On March 17, 2017, under the pseudonym riadhtheone,[8] Riadh collaborated with various content creators in the humoristic video Saïd & Paul: Les Gens sur Twitter, which was shot at the YouTube Space Paris for Saïd Bengriche and Paul Darbos' shared YouTube channel.[3]

He made his first breakthrough by commenting on short videos he would find and download from Instagram. Watched by more than ten million people, in November 2017, the rapper Booba shared one of them on his Instagram account.[9][7]

On May 22, 2019, Instagram invited him and the group he is part of, Smile, composed of several influencers, to the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, with no special instruction other than to let their imagination run free. They set up a prank with a young woman by making her look like a celebrity surrounded by bodyguards on La Croisette.[10]

On June 4, 2019, he appeared, together with other influencers, in the music video of the song Le Coach by Soprano and Vincenzo.[11]

In September 2019, he collaborated with EF Education First and went on many trips around the world with 5 other influencers.[12][13]

On November 8, 2019, NRJ, in a collaboration with Instagram, invited him and three other influencers to Cannes for the 2019 NRJ Music Awards to conduct interviews with artists and share the behind the scenes images of the ceremony for NRJ's Instagram account and IGTV channel. The next day, along with the influencer Fatou Guinea, he presented live on NRJ's social media, commenting on the outfits of the artists present on the red carpet in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.[14]

On July 16, 2020, on the occasion of Fashion Week, he was one of the guests to attend the Simon Porte Jacquemus spring/summer collection 2021 for the fashion show L'amour (limited due to the Covid-19 global health crisis) in the wheat fields of Us, Val-d'Oise.[15]

On August 19, 2020, he played the role of the singer Wejdene's boyfriend in the music video of the song Coco.[16][17][18]

He played the role of Sammy in the movie 30 Jours max, released on October 14, 2020.[19]

On March 24, 2021, Brussels rapper ICO invited Riadh to feature on his single Señorita.[20]

In the documentary J’aime pas Just Riadh released on BrutX on April 7, 2021, a video-on-demand platform launched by Brut media, he responds to his social-media critics.[21][22]
