Infortar is one of the largest private investment groups in Estonia with interests in shipping and transportation, hospitality, real estate, printing, trading, financial service industries and energetics. Infortar investments include 38% ownership of AS Tallink Group (the leading transportation and shipping company in the northern Baltic Sea region), 51% of AS Eesti Gaas, numerous hotel and real estate investments consisting of ca 100,000 m² of different hotel and spa properties in Tallinn and Riga, Tallink Group logistics centre and headquarters, commercial and residential building in old town of Tallinn One of the largest projects under development is Tallink City – a retail, entertainment and sports complex located in Lasnamäe (district of Tallinn with 116,000 residents). The first phase (Tennis Centre) of the project will be opened in 2017.
History
Infortar was founded as an investment company in 1997 by private investors as part of a capital raise for Tallink shipping company, which faced big difficulties at that time. At first Infortar concentrated on investing in Tallink, since 2004, the company has expanded steadily in hospitality, real estate and transportation business.
