Isaac T. Matlala, a native of Zebediela, Limpopo Province, South Africa, is a distinguished registered nurse and accomplished author born on 28 October 1991.
He is the fourth of six children born to Winky and Rose Matlala.
Early life
Isaac T. Matlala was raised by his maternal grandmother in Zebediela district, Makweng village. He started school in Sello Primary school where he did standard A in 1998. By the beginning of 1999 he moved to Naboomspruit(now Mookgophong) with all his siblings to joing their parents, Winky and Rose Matlala. During this time he was enrolled at Dikubu public Primary school where he did standard B to 1 between 1999 and 2000.
He then came back to Makweng village where he did grade 4 in Sello Primary school and later moved to Ngwana Mokwena Primary school to do Grade 5 to Grade 7 in the same village.
In 2002 his family moved from his maternal grandmother to their new home in Ga-Rakgoatha village, Zebediela though he never changed school.
He attended high school at Sethwethwa secondary school located between the villages of Makweng and Ga-Rakgoatha from 2005 to 2009 where he did his matric.
Qualifications
Isaac T. Matlala studied a 4 year diploma in nursing science (General, Community & Psychiatry) and Midwifery at the Sg Lourens nursing college in Pretoria, Gauteng from 2011 to 2014.
Work experience
In 2015 he did his community service as a professional nurse at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria. He continued to work there in 2016 until his resignation in 2017.
He joined Zuid Afrikaans Hospital in May 2017 until his resignation in October 2017. He worked in cardiothoracic ICU.
In November 2017 to April 2018, he worked in Mediclinic Nelspruit, Mpumalanga province. He then joined Netcare Moot Hospital in Rietfontein, Pretoria where he worked from December 2018 to December 2020.
He is currently working in the intensive care unit of a private hospital.
Writing
Isaac T. Matlala started writing in 2001, at the age of 10 after being inspired by his love for reading.
His literary repertoire encompasses a poignant novel that delves into the detrimental consequences of peer pressure, an autobiographical masterpiece titled “Gone are the Days: The Story of My Life,” published in 2021
He also wrote a profound biblical commentary exploring the eschatological theme of the end times, aptly titled “The End of Days: A Journey to the Future, published in 2022.
In 2023 he published an educational book lamenting on issues of great moral concern to the people of Africa, The Toxicity of the 21st Century; A Lament of Africa.
