Remember that parameters and values are case sensitive.

Parameter What to Enter What Does it do? Where to find it?
{{{Basin}}} Basin=Atl.
For Eastern Pacific tropical cyclones, type in |Basin=EPac.
For Central Pacific tropical cyclones, type in |Basin=CPac.		 This "tells" the template which basin the storm is in.
{{{Local Time}}} Local Time=XX:XX a.m./p.m. XXX[A 1][A 2] This is for the local time as specified in the advisory. NHC Public Advisory
{{{Local Date}}} Local Date=Month Day[A 3] This is the local date as of the latest advisory. NHC Public Advisory
{{{UTC Time}}} UTC Time=XXXX[A 4] This specifies the UTC time. Should be written in Military time format. NHC Public Advisory
{{{UTC Date}}} UTC Date=Month Day[A 5] This specifies the day of the latest time in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). NHC Public Advisory
{{{Latitude}}} Latitude=ValueDegrees signN/S[A 6] This specifies the latitude of the storm center as of the latest advisory. NHC Public Advisory
{{{Longitude}}} Longitude=ValueDegrees signE/W[A 7] This specifies the longitude of the storm center as of the latest advisory. NHC Public Advisory
{{{1-min winds}}} 1-min winds=XX[A 8] This specifies the 1-minute sustained winds of the storm. Please input in knots. NHC Forecast Advisory
{{{RSMC Gusts}}} RSMC Gusts=XX[A 9] This specifies the estimated gusts of the storm as specified by the advisory. Please input in knots. Do Not use {{{Gusts}}} as that overrides the {{{1-minute winds}}} and is not used in this template for that purpose. NHC Forecast Advisory
{{{Movement}}} Movement=Compass direction[A 10][A 11] NHC Public Advisory
{{{Speed}}} Speed=XX[A 12] This specifies the speed at which the storm is traveling at as per the latest advisory. Please input in knots. YOU NEED THIS PARAMETER FOR THE TEMPLATE TO WORK!! NHC Forecast Advisory
{{{Pressure}}} Pressure=Pressure Value[A 13] The pressure of the storm as per the latest advisory in mbar/hPa. Must be a number. NHC Public/Forecast Advisory
{{{Prepressure}}} Prepressure=Numerical sign[A 14] Use this to add a modifier before the value of Pressure. Use only if pressure is not specified in the advisory!

{{{Type}}} Type=Value[A 17] This will change the infobox to display any category you wish. Use this only if you do not have the maximum sustained winds. Type1 and Type2 will change the upper and lower boxes respectively.

  1. ^ This is for the time zone abbreviation as specified in the tropical cyclone advisory. Ex. Eastern Pacific uses PDT (Pacific Daylight Time).
