Early Life

[edit]

Hayley DuMond was born in Anchorage, Alaska. She is the daughter of Donald Lee DuMond, a US Marine Corps aviator, and Lee DuMond (nee Thornton), a flight attendant. Her Grandfather is Risher M. Thornton III, a now retired prominent oil and gas attorney. From Alaska, the family relocated to New Port Richey, FL and when Hayley was 10, opened Suncoast Gymnastics Academy. Drawing from his military background, her Dad went on to become a nationally ranked gymnastics coach, turning out numerous Elite level, state & national champions.

Career

[edit]

Modeling

[edit]

At the age of 15, Hayley DuMond was discovered by a modeling scout for the Milan, Italy based agency, Fashion. Chaperoned by her mother, she moved to Italy for a time and began a notable stint in fashion magazine Vogue Bambini. After signing with Elite Model Management she dropped out of Ridgewood High School at the beginning of her junior year and moved to South Beach, Miami. There she began working consistently for teen magazines like 17, YM, and Sassy, graduating high school from Palm Harbor Preparatory, a school for professional children. After years of "living out of a suitcase" and traveling the world, Hayley moved to Los Angeles at the suggestion of her booker at Elite, Capucine Castets.

Acting

[edit]

Upon her arrival in LA in 1997, Hayley was introduced to well known William Morris agent turned manager, Bonnie Owens. It was through Bonnie that Hayley landed her first acting job, after convincing casting directors to audition the complete unknown for the lead role opposite Burt Reynolds in the feature film, The Hunter's Moon. The Hunter's Moon is the tale of a young Appalachian woman's struggle to free herself from the grips of her tyrannical and abusive father, played by Reynolds. It was on this film that Hayley met & fell in love with co-star Keith Carradine. The two eventually married November 18th, 2006 in Torino, Italy.

Television

[edit]

Though she has yet to 'break out' in a major way, Hayley has garnered praise for her work in television movies of the week such as Dying to Live for Paramount Pictures, CBS's Murder In the Mirror and the camp cult Sci-Fi movie Raptor Island. In the early 2000's she appeared on such shows as JAG (episode JAG TV) where she portrayed a character modeled after former Naval midshipman Diane Zamora who was found guilty of killing Adrianne Jones in 1995 after a dispute over a boyfriend. The incident captured national attention as did the episode which included appearances by notable attorneys Gloria Allred and Johnnie Cochran and Entertainment Tonight's Mary Hart. She also guest starred in a memorable episode of the CBS show Early Edition (episode Romancing the Throne; an homage to the classic film Roman Holiday). In the episode she portrayed "Princess Sibella", a character modeled after Audrey Hepburn's Princess Ann in Roman Holiday. Most recently Hayley has popped up on popular shows such as Malcolm In the Middle, Charmed and Dexter. She left the acting world after losing her beloved manager, Bonnie Owens to ovarian cancer in 2004 and settled into a life behind the camera as a professional photographer, specializing in extreme landscapes.

Personal

[edit]

Hayley DuMond's relationship with actor Keith Carradine has seen some controversy. In 2006 Carradine's ex-wife Sandra Will Carradine pled guilty and was convicted on felony perjury charges stemming from the arrest and conviction of her boyfriend, Hollywood gumshoe Anthony Pellicano. According to FBI documents, Sandra Will Carradine lied to a Federal Grand Jury regarding her knowledge and involvement in Pellicano's wiretapping of her ex-husband, Hayley DuMond and DuMond's parents.
