The Place I Love is the debut album by British band Splinter, released in September 1974. It was produced by George Harrison, who devoted an inordinate amount of time to the project, nurturing the sound for well over a year − ultimately, to the detriment of his own career. The album served as the first release on Harrison's record label, Dark Horse.

Background

[edit]

The story behind The Place I Love begins pretty much where Splinter's story begins – when Bob Purvis and Billy Elliott broke away from the ?? band ?? and were talent-spotted by Mal Evans, the longtime Beatles assistant turned Apple Records [[[A&R]] man. Evans signed on as their manager.
