The Zachary Taylor Elementary School massacre (also known as the Hiding Man shooting) occurred on October 31, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Seth Davenport, a sixteen year old student at nearby John C. Beckinridge High School, murdered 36 students and four teachers, and injured a further 58 people in what remains the deadliest mass shooting in United States history. The perpetrator carried out this shooting in an attempt to appease the fictional character known as the Hiding Man.
