The Highlands Trail is a planned 150-mile (240 km) recreational hiking trail through the Highlands physiographic province in the states of New Jersey and New York. The creation and construction of the trail is a cooperative effort of the New York–New Jersey Trail Conference, conservation organizations, state and local governments, and local businesses. When the trail is completed, the trail will span from Riegelsville, New Jersey, along the Delaware River, and north across the Hudson River, to Storm King Mountain and the border between New York state and Connecticut near Cornwall, New York.
