Lord David Jarrod Stief new article content ... Conceived on the Start/Finish line of Morphetvale Racecourse, Adelaide, South Australia. After a Rock Concert by a famous 1960's Band, bastard son, given only months to live, was put up for adoption and given the name Simon Stief. An illegal adoption followed, Doctor Anderson of the Prospect Surgery was deported for arranging numerous illegal adoption, he was passed on to an elderly childless couple, with links to the Adelaide underground in the 1960's.
He rose above the murder, corruption and adopted family history (Slape Gully Smith) to become an artist. Winning his first prize at 5 years old, of a $50.00 book voucher, which was an enormous amount and a giant stuffed kangaroo.
Abuse, neglect and horror followed. At the age of 9 years old, he designed his Primary School Crest, which was kept for 15 years. At the age of 10 he designed Northfield Softball Team, Northfield Baseball Team logos as well. It was during this year he was also saved from the abuse, by his then Primary School teacher's William F. Skully, now Governor of the Pan Pacific Kiwanis and Christopher Doyle.
After many accolades during his highschool years, earning more than his teacher's at galleries throughout South Australia, and having started through the guidance of these two teachers, art movements, art prizes, art institutions, he moved on through the guidance of Terrence Drew, Art Master, Northfield Highschool, to seek Tertiary Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Underdale College of Advanced Education. In his first year, he witnessed the death of his best friend a photographer at the Adelaide Railway, who slipped off the platform and was hit by a train and killed. With the constant reminder of death, at every point, he made a vow to simply create. Accolades came fast and firm, by the time he was 18 he created movements and Art Style.
He emerged from the shadows in the 1990s, being the first to reverse the act of drawing, Black on White became White on Black, this led to the rave reviews and the start of new genre. Now heavily copied. One of 7 artists invited to the Federation Exhibition, Prospect Gallery South Australia, his piece stated that "The only unification of a country could be through sport, for the common people." This caused no controversy whatsoever, it was simply accepted. From then he began the New Age Movement and as cover artist of the New Age Guardian created another movement that lasted 10 years.
