Naammatra or नाममात्र is a Marathi reality television show that showcases the efforts made by Naam Foundation, an initiative by actors Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure, that works for betterment of farmers in the drought-prone areas of Marathwada and Vidharbha. It is the inspiring journey of Naam Foundation and the significant contribution it has been making in the lives of Farmers and other Villagers. First episode of the TV Show was aired on 16 July 2018 on Zee Marathi. It is available to watch on ZEE5

Summary

Draught is not new to the human race, but the reason behind the thousands of farmer suicides is not just the draught. it has more to do with the mistakes we have done as a society. In the mad race of developing the cities, we have neglected the Water sources that keeps us alive. One more thing that we are neglecting are the lives left behind by the unfortunate farmers who have committed suicide. This Episode talks about them both, Scares Water and Abundant Grief! Things that ignited this journey.

  • Episode 1 - This is a Introductory episode which talks about both, Scares Water and Abundant Grief! Things that ignited this journey.
  • Episode 2 - Makarand Anaspure informs the audience that a villager from Katfal has requested the foundation to make provisions for water supply. One of the villagers mentions that they used the money collected during the village fair to solve their problems. Makarand then remarks that when the villagers got together to find a solution, blessings rained down upon them. Nana Patekar and Makarand then share the story of their visit to Beed, where Jyoti tai Morale’s plea for help shook them to the core.
  • Episode 3 - Makarand Anaspure mentions that in the year 2015, during Ganeshotsav, one half of Maharashtra was busy with festivities, whereas the other half was struggling to survive. Nana Patekar informs the audience about his encounter with an elderly lady who touched his heart with her generosity. Makarand and Nana then talk about the second phase of their outreach program. After Makarand narrates the story of Kamal tai, Nana mentions that he was moved when a girl with special needs gave them her earnings.
  • Episode 4 - Makarand Anaspure begins the segment by talking about the aim of the foundation. Shortly after that, Sheetala tai reveals that she began her tailoring business with an initial investment of INR 15,000, which she received from the foundation. She proceeds to mention that she teaches tailoring for free to women as she believes that it is important to give back to society. Thereafter, another woman talks about how she started a shop and also shares her rules of business with the audience.
  • Episode 12 - This is the last Episode of the Show in which Makarand Anaspure talks about ‘Dhanya Mahotsav’ at Thane, an initiative started by the NAAM Foundation. He informs that the main intention of the initiative is to give a proper market price to the crops cultivated by the farmers. Afterwards, Nana Patekar shares an incident about his friend Dr. Ranjit Jagtap who has taken an oath to provide free medical help to the villagers coming to him by the reference of the NAAM Foundation. Later, the villagers praise NAAM Foundation.
