About me

[edit]

My hobbies include astrology, singing, crystal healing and shopping. I am a very ambitious and outspoken person. I love meeting new people, music, nature and astrology. Throughout high school I’ve played football and I’ve played for about 5 years, I have also played baseball for 9 years and I’m really good but I stopped because it’s during the same season as track and I am really good at track because of how fast I am. High school wasn’t easy in the beginning because I live in a very conservative town and the majority is white. I came out as Gay in the beginning of my freshmen year and was judged by a lot of people but it helped me discover who my real friends were at the time. I learned that i shouldn’t have to holdback myself to please others and I am all about self love and making people realize how truly beautiful they are. I started crystal healing as a way to work on my confidence and self love. Crystals don’t have superpowers or anything but every crystal vibrates at different speeds resulting in the transfer/hold of energy. (Gifford, B.E.)

My Wikipedia interest

[edit]

I think when I use Wikipedia, I would use to search up famous role models throughout history and historical events. I have a lot of knowledge about certain topics so I could help correct information or add information written by other people.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

I think transdermal implants can be very cool depending on the person and I used to watch T.V. Shows that showed how transdermal implants work and how diverse each implant can be. I visited the transdermal implant article on Wikipedia, and it provided some good information but I found three aspects of the article worth commenting on: Bias, Lack of citations, and non reliable sources. This article lacked some information and citations that could’ve been beneficial to their article about transdermal implants.

Bias

[edit]

This article stated “Microdermal implants are a more desirable alternative to surface piercings, as they provide less scarring when removed.” This statement is very biased because not everyone shares that same opinion about scarring, personally I don’t scar easily so I wouldn’t really be affected by this and there are topical ointments and or medication to reduce scarring and the appearance of scars.

Lack of citations

[edit]

This article includes a couple good sources but only has about 4 citations from different websites and I think it’s important to have many sources to fully understand the topic you are writing about so you can inform people about what you’re writing about. There was a lot of good information that really helped me understand how transdermal implants worked but the lack of citations made me question if the statements were valid or not. This article could also use some more in text citations because it barely has any at all.

Unreliable sources

[edit]

This article also included some unreliable sources that should not be used in an informational article because If the source is unreliable then nobody knows if what they’re reading is true or just someone’s opinion. When writing an informational article you should always have solid evidence to back up your topic in order for it to be valid.

Summary

[edit]

In conclusion, this article needs a lot of work regarding biased opinions, in text citations and unreliable sources. I would’ve loved if the article included information about the schooling it takes to start doing transdermal implants and microdermal implants because I think that is important and beneficial information. The article had some good statements that were backed by evidence but I wish all of their statements included evidence.
