Jamal Slocombe is a British Born, Barbadian singer and student of Coleridge and Parry School who's talent was discovered back from 2004.

Just at seven (7) years of age Jamal's first National performance took placed at the Spirit of the Nation Show. He was accompanied by then music teacher Johnny Koimen and friend Makaila Richards on guitar and drums respectively. Koimen as a folk singer was a tremendous inspiration through his early years of performing. In Jamal's last year of primary education he entered the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts and received a Bronze for his poem The Elements of Cricket.

In these latter years (2008) Jamal entered the Coleridge and Parry Secondary and on the first day of School his talent was already heard of. He then became a often singer in the school and developed talents in playing percussion instruments.Marlon Legall became advisory to his seemed successful career leading him to be victorious in 4H Talent 2009 and 2010.

During these last few years Jamal partake in the International Boxing Championship performing the National Anthem of Barbados and the Coleridge and Parry Vocal Competition, and although recovering from an illness he placed third (3rd).In the summer of 2010 he entered the competition for the summer program in the whole Island he is victorious for the 10-15 Category for 2010.Presently instructions at school are being taken by Kirk Lane and David Headley and he is part of the Male Duo with Shakeele Skeete-Haynes.These two received a silver at NIFCA and went to the Gala for the National Live Performance.

Since then he has performed at the Gold Cup with well known recording artiste of Barbados : Ria Borman, Toni Norville, Ronnie Morris and Kareen Clarke. He is currently studying and training in Vocal Performance and Technique being taught Carlyn Leacock queen of song in Barbados.Jamal aspires to be a Journalist focusing on Entertainment as he has so much interest in the performing arts.
