Local elections were held in the province of Apayao on May 9, 2022, as part of the Philippine general election. Voters selected candidates for all Local positions: a Municipal Mayor, Municipal Vice Mayor and Municipal Councilors, as well as Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the Governor, the Vice Governor, and a Representative for the lone district of Nueva Apayao to the House of Representatives. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2022, for a three-year term. 67,563 of 78,454 registered voters voted in this election.

As the Governor, Vice Governor, and Member of the House of Representatives and Members of the Provincial Board are elected on the same ballot, Gubernatorial candidates may present a slate of candidates for each position per District within the Province.

Gubernatorial election

The incumbent Governor is Eleanor Bulut–Begtang, who was elected unopposed in 2019 election with 93.82% (45,343 votes) of the total votes counted.

Bulut–Begtang didn't seek a second term and instead switching place with his brother, Elias Bulut Jr. whom currently serve as Congressman of the province. Bulut Jr. is running under Nationalist People's Coalition and is unopposed without any challenger. He also serve as Governor from 2010 until being term-limited in 2019.

Vice Gubernatorial election

The incumbent Vice Governor is Remy Albano, who was elected unopposed in 2019 election with 81.98% (39,619 votes) of the total votes counted.

Albano seek re-election, he run under the banner of Kilusang Bagong Lipunan. He will be facing incumbent Board Member Mailah Haylee Lorenzo–Ballesteros, who is running as an Independent without any support of a Political party or organization. Both Albano and Ballesteros serve in the Provincial Board.
