Local elections were held in the Province of Quezon on May 14, 2007, as part of the 2007 general election. Voters will select candidates for all local positions: a town mayor, vice mayor and town councilors, as well as members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the vice-governor, governor and representatives for the four districts of Quezon. Those elected officials took their respective offices on June 30, 2007, for a three-year-long term. 681,514 of 877,477 registered voters voted in this election.

Background

Incumbent Governor Wilfredo Lopez Enverga is ineligible and barred for running for re-election, already serving on his third consecutive term's. Enverga won his third and final term as Governor in 2004 elections, Enverga is the nominee of the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) of then-Presidential candidate Ronald Allan Poe, also known as Fernando Poe Jr. and by his initials FPJ. Enverga is a friend of Poe, so eventually Enverga automatically supported Poe's bid for the Presidency. Enverga later won the election, garnering 373,399 votes (71.83%) of 519,812 votes counted for the said position. His main opponent Serafin Dator of the Liberal Party (Liberal) landed on the 2nd place, garnering only 87,430 votes (16.82%). The other 58,983 votes (11.35%) was garnered by Frumencio Sonny Pulgar (Lakas–CMD). Dator and Pulgar supported the candidacy of the incumbent President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Incumbent Vice Governor David Suarez is eligible for running for re-election, but instead he run for the highest position in the Province. Suarez is the running mate of the opposition candidate Serafin Dator. Suarez and Dator run under the same party. Even Suarez and Dator are running under the same party, Suarez didn't support Arroyo's bid for President. Although Dator didn't won his gubernatorial bid, Suarez' bid for the Vice Governor came out victorious, defeating incumbent Vice Governor Jovito Talabong, the running mate of Wilfredo Enverga. Talabong and Enverga both run under the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) and they both supported Fernando Poe Jr.'s bid for President. Suarez garnered 297,848 votes (59.68%) of 499,096 votes counted for the said position, while Talabong garnered 184,547 votes (36.98%). The remaining 16,701 votes (3.35%) was garnered by Adelene Origeneza Enverga (not directly connected to Wilfredo Enverga), running mate of Frumencio Sonny Pulgar, also running as Lakas–CMD.

As the governor, vice governor, and members of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Board are elected on the same ballot, gubernatorial candidates may present a slate of candidates for each position for every district within the province.

Gubernatorial election

Incumbent Governor Wilfredo Lopez Enverga is term-limited for running for re-election. His camp supported the candidacy of incumbent Vice Governor David Suarez, although Suarez is the running mate of Serafin Dator, Dator is the main opponent of Enverga in the 2004 elections. Suarez is the nominee of the Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (KAMPI), which is supporting the Arroyo administration. Suarez also got the support of the administration party the Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas–CMD). Suarez main opponent is incumbent 1st district Representative Rafael Nantes. Nantes is the nominee of the opposition's Liberal Party (Liberal).
