Chris Corner is an English multi instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, singer and video artist. He was a founding member of the band Sneaker Pimps and is now active with his solo project IAMX.[1]

He has moved from London to Berlin in 2006, where he has set up his new IAMX studio for music and visual work.[2][3]

To date, Corner has released seven studio albums, three with Sneaker Pimps (Becoming X 1996, Splinter 1999 and Bloodsport 2002) and four with IAMX (Kiss and Swallow 2004, The Alternative 2006, Kingdom of Welcome Addiction 2009 and Volatile Times 2011). He is currently working on the fifth IAMX album.

Early Life[edit]

Corner was born and brought up in Middlesbrough in Northern England. His family comes from a working class background. He grew up with an older sister and his parents running a local shop (called 'Corner Shop'). He has said the hard working attitude of his father has influenced his own work ethic. Corner's grandfather was born on the Seychelles and came to Middlesbrough as a sailor in his teenage years.

When he was twelve years old, Corner got to know his sister's boyfriend, Liam Howe (then sixteen), whom he would later form the band Sneaker Pimps with.

Corner composed and produced the soundtrack to the film Les Chevaliers du Ciel (2005). It included Sue Denim and Placebo.[5]

Many of his songs were used in TV and film productions, such as We Are The Night, CSI, the video game Grand Theft Auto and others.[6]
