The SSI Restoration Act is a proposed bill in the United States to modernize Supplemental Security Income.

The bill would:[8][9]

  • Increase the SSI General Income Disregard from the current $20 to $110 per month
  • Increase the Earned Income Disregard from the current $65 to $357 per month
  • Raise the asset limit from $2,000 ($3,000 for eligible couples) to $10,000 ($15,000 for eligible couples)
  • No longer count in-kind support and maintenance as income
  • Repeal the penalty for the transfer of a resource for less than fair market value within 36 months of applying for SSI or while receiving SSI
