Jeehyung Lee, who majored in industrial design, joined the game development company [Pictosoft] in 2011 after graduating from university. He also worked at  [Netmarble Monster] after [Nexon GT]. At Netmarble Monster, he worked as an art director for Marvel Future Fight, the Marvel IP mobile game. He was recognized for his great ability to lead the creation of Marvel characters as a first Korean artist with the Netmarble Monster art team. During this process, original characters such as Luna Snow and Sharon Rogers were born, and the K-pop idol concept Luna Snow is popular with users and is serialized as a 'new agents of atlas' comic.

In 2018, he worked in a variety of areas, including producing album art books for the best K-pop idol [Wanna-One].

He is currently working as a Marvel, DC Comics cover illustrator. He also published a book [1]called Jeehyung ’s Illustrations in 2019.

Early life[edit]

Jeehyung was born and raised in S.Korea and his very first drawing of Batman was at age seven. Working for a gaming company in 2011 encouraged him to believe pursuing a career in illustration was realistic.  His career began a few years later, after graduating with a major in industrial design. He was able to start his career with a game company that posted his work including his UI illustrations in their social media posts. From those social media posts he landed his first Marvel project illustrating Iron Man in 2013.

He was scouted by Netmarble, the largest mobile-game company in S.Korea as an art director in 2015. His endless effort and passion for drawing translated into gorgeous digital artwork at Netmarble. He illustrated numerous Marvel superheroes with Netmarble which in recent years has led to him to working within the comic book industry as one of hottest cover illustrators in the United States.

Outside of gaming and comics, in 2018 Jeehyung collaborated with the popular K-Pop group Wanna One for their album art which was also a big success.

Career[edit]

As an art director with Netmarble mobile-game company, he created and directed to develop the K-pop superhero Luna Snow and Sharon Rogers characters for the Marvel Future Fight.  These characters became popular and Marvel comic book released the cover with it.  The popularity leads to youtube tutorial for users and students.

He instructed and made a speech about “All about game art” at Netmarble Game Academy Forum in 2017.

His outstanding epic unique style of digital art was recognized by comic book industry.  His Harley Quinn artwork was published by one of DC Detective #1000 variant cover in 2019 and his first sold out cover art.

He painted superhero characters for comic book covers with Marvel, DC, and Dynamite Entertainment.  He illustrated Batman Grave series 1 ~ 6 variant covers with DC that was written by Warren Ellis and his collaborator Bryan Hitch.

His Marvel Spider Gwen Ghost Spider became iconic for his distinguished style of digital art and collectible by comic cover fans. He illustrated the Gwen Stacy #1 with Marvel.  He published a personal illustration HC book in 2019. It contains artworks from his earlier hand drawings before photoshop digital drawings till he becomes a novel artist.
