Francis Leo Lynch was born November 18, 1894 in Allentown, PA Francis was the captain of the 1916 Villanova football team. Francis played on the December 11, 1920 Phonexville Union team that defeated Jim Thorpes' Canton Bulldogs Team at Philles BallPark in Philladelphia, PA. Francis often played a full 60 minutes and never wore a helmut. A notable victory was his 1915 year Villanova win over West Point with the game ending 16-13..
