The Bibliotheca Lindesiana was the library of the earls of Crawford, and for most of its history it was located at Haigh Hall near Wigan, now in Greater Manchester.

History[edit]

The origins of the Bibliotheca Lindesiana go back to the 16th century.

Manuscripts[edit]

The 25th and 26th earls of Crawford created one of the largest collections of manuscripts in Britain, between the 1830s and 1901.^[1]
