History
- Mica Dam was declared operational on March 29, 1973.[1] The dam was built to a height of 800-feet above bedrock. At the time the dam was one of three storage dams built by the provincial power company B.C. Hydro within the description of the Columbia River Treaty. The dam operated with a 165-square-mile reservoir containing 12-million-acre-feet of live storage in McNaughton Lake. The powerhouse was built to be 178-feet high, 80-feet-wide and 778-feet-long.
- In 1976, three years after start of hydroelectric production, two generator were added to the Mica powerhouse. Each with a capacity of 435,000 kilowatts.
- Another two generators were scheduled to be added in 1977 for a total generating capacity of 2,610,000 kilowatts.
- During the mid-1970s expansion of the Mica powerhouse, power was delivered to Ingledow Substation via a 500,000-volt 354-mile-long (570km) transmission line. A second power transmission line for hydroelectric power was built to the Meridian Substation near Port Moody, British Columbia, Canada.

During recent years, Ras Tanura (or RT or Najmah) has had an active community of Facebook users, that have contributed to more, easily searched, website pages with on-line photo galleries of Najmah, Saudi Arabia. Ras Tanura photo galleries that provide general views of the ocean beach, residential neighborhoods, and community facilities. Notably the golf course, and other well-maintained original community buildings, between the theater and the bowling alley, of Najmah which continues to function as an important coastal and inland link.
A most recent movie-sized documentary production of the American oil company-built towns, including the Ras Tanura employee camp Najmah, is the nostalgic titled "Home - The Aramco Brats Story", promoted as released with a trailer and DVD, December, 2006.

“Haradh is an oil and gas field in Ghawar, divided into three increments[1]. Haradh Increment-3 was planned to be developed exclusively with MRC production wells with smart completion[2]. A well with horizontal length of 5 km (3 miles) or above in contact with reservoir is termed as MRC[3], [4]."[5]
1999-2003, Haradh projects include the regional Haradh Gas Plant, which processes gas from a southern part of the Ghawar oil field of inland eastern Saudi Arabia. Since the early '70s, Master Gas System (MGS) has been the name given to gas plant projects in Saudi Arabia. Ju'aymah and Berri Gas Plants between Ras Tanura and Jubail are comparable mega project-sized facilities with coastal exporting. These gas plant projects were typically as large as, but not part of, oil refineries and well sites. They are designed to recover oil field waste, instead of flaring (burning) extremely volatile gasses associated with crude oil recovery and export. Processing of crude oil also results in the accumulation of tons of elemental sulfur in a molten form, which is also processed, stored, and is capable of being exported as part of a heavy industry project. 90 metric tons per day at Haradh Gas Plant. Haradh Gas Plant was designed and built to process up to 1.6 billion cfd (cubic feet per day), of which 1.5 billion was planned to be sent into the national pipeline network of Saudi Arabia's Master Gas System.[6] Unique to the Haradh projects is a first type of computer user link between a gas gathering office network, somewhere between the gas plant and the well heads (oil wells in the field). Used as a tool to remotely manage drilling and flow of petroleum from the well heads. Adding to the ease of use, technical complexity, engineering safety, and security of operating and managing the Haradh projects.
2004, January, Opening of the Haradh energy project that will begin to produce from 87 oil field wells. 10,600 of 36 nationalities will have been the highest number of project employees during the $2 billion construction. One quarter of the gas consumed in Saudi Arabia will be supplied from Haradh. Haradh will include an airport for a population of 1,000 Saudi Aramco project employees, plus, highway links west to capital Riyadh, north to Hofuf, and further north to Abqaiq, Dhahran, Dammam, Al-Khobar, Jubail and Kuwait.[7] Google Earth search results will currently result in Harad and Harad Station. A highway line directly east from the Harad region, towards Qatar and UAE, will appear impassable in a recent Google Earth image.
"Saudi Aramco's most recently developed field, Haradh Increment III, completed in early 2006 with a production capacity of 300,000 bbls/day, relies on 32 intelligent MRC wells that utilize WellDynamics' SmartWell intelligent completion technology."[8]
2006, March 22, Oil well project opening, linking Haradh Increment-3, southern Ghawar oil field, to Abqaiq, to coast of east Saudi Arabia, to VLCCs.[9]

- Combined projects produce 900,000 barrels-per-day of oil, 450 million standard-cubic-feet of gas per day, Haradh -3.
- Haradh GOSP-3 to increase maximum sustained capacity (MSC) to 11.3 million barrels-per-day.
- Oil and gas of 32-wells piped to Haradh GOSP-3, piped 160km (99mi+) to Abqaiq.
- New project links 150km (93mi) of pipeline for seawater injection into GOSP-3 oil wells.
- Haradh oil and gas received at Abqaiq Stabilization Plant and Uthmaniyah Gas Plant.
- 10-years earlier, GOSP-1 onstream (opening of first part of oil facility Haradh))
- 2-years earlier, 8.6 million work-hours approved for part three of the Haradh project.
