Limitation of first law of thermodynamcs The first law of thermodynamics, though exact has a certain limitations as given beow. 1. The first doesnot tell us about the direction of heat transfer 2. It doesnot tell us how much of a given quantty of heat is converted to work 3. It doesnot tell us about the conditions under heat is converted into work.
