My name is John Pilgrim and I am a native of Suffolk, England (UK), where I spent my first 19 years, before setting out to get to know the world personally. I am currently enjoying living life as an ex-pat.

As my choice of nickname hints, I have a love for languages. I've spent much of the past two decades learning as many languages as I can to the best of my ability; I'm a qualified translator, and my passion for language learning remains unabated. As a result, my Wiki interest and contributions are not limited to English.

A natural inquisitiveness and curiosity about almost everything, including the meaning of life, has driven me to seek to overcome barriers of communication and understanding. These same characteristics are behind my interest in a wide range of subjects, including history (local, national and international, and their processes), sociology, philosophy, geography, natural sciences, politics...indeed anything and everything (though I do admit to having actually grasped some better than others...).
