https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baojuan

The first article I found was one on a type of Chinese Mythology called Baojuan(宝卷). The lead is clear enough and the description is there but there is far too little information overall. The information does seem accurate in what it says though. The page consists of the opener, the "background", and then the "list" of sources and the bibliography. This is disappointing as there is definitely more information out there on this subject even a quick search on google yielded more results than this. The facts about the topic do seem correct but I'm sure you could expound on all points. The talk page is silent although there was an edit in October of last year (2020). There are no images to accompany the article and furthermore there are no mention of the actual tales in the article. Which is interesting because part of the reason I chose this article is because I am interested in different cultures mythologies. There are no hyperlinks connecting these stories to this page either: in a quick search of one of these mythological tales I quickly found a decently filled out wiki page on the tale and no mention of the Baojuan(宝卷) or a hyperlink between them. I think the page would be greatly improved if it offered hyperlinks to the stories wikipages it is in connection with. My overall impression of the article was that it's a good start. It needs more information and to be connected to the other articles it has in common; it is the principle collection of these stories, why isn't it mentioned? There are also a number of individuals important to the topic who have no wikipedia page or aren't mentioned on the page at all. This is another concern.

The second article I looked at was about one of China's most important scholars, Cai YuanPei(蔡元培). I chose this article because I had some familiarity with the subject and am interested in him and his life. The lead is written pretty well and does a good job going down the list and sort of checking off the boxes of what makes him "notable" and where. It's brief but very to the point and clear. The lead seems to include information in the article while not mentioning anything that isn't in the article. The content of the article seems good but I think it's not fleshed out enough in certain areas. It seems like a really robust overview of his life and accomplishments but I think you could add more information in regard to his thoughts and his influence in certain fields. The article doesn't do a good job of explaining the beginning of his life and the implications of that and it doesn't really give the right impression of him. The information seems up to date and the talk page has recent edits and contributions especially in the fields where he held the most influence. I think some sections could be added for example, a section on his brand of anarchy or his time studying in Europe. The sources used seem reputable although some of them I could not find (the links didn't work). Diversity seems like an issue when it comes to these individuals because they represent a very dense part of the world and a very specific part of history and influence so the most writings are from Western or Chinese scholars. The images used are good and give some good context to who the man was. There's not a lot of deep discussion on him in the 'talk' page it's mostly just people saying they added an edit or created smaller sections out of larger one. There also seem to be a good bit citations missing in regards to peoples names and their hyperlinks. The article is rated as a "start" because there is more information needed and to be expounded on. I think the strengths of this article are it's good overview of the man, there are good solid brief sections that basically capture some of the main ideas but I think that it needs more information for the sake of context and understanding of who he was and what he stood for. Its a complex subject because he represented a time of critical change and brought many radical ideas to China at the time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misty_Poets

The lead section of this article is written well with clear ideas offering a good overview of the subject. It does mention some parts that are not present in the article however these are hyperlinks to other relevant pages. I do think it is a little overly detailed because it mentions the major poets of this movement who I think could use their own section to be talked about because they had a wide reaching influence and the "misty poets" were seen as a group with each member representing his own work and ideas. The content of the article is decent enough but again it seems there's a lack of information. The Misty Poets were important to many pro-democracy movements and its said there words were seen on banners at the Tiananmen Square march of 1989. It seems that the article doesn't really go into any depth as to what the misty poets believed except for "democracy" I think this idea should be expanded on in its own section. The article does seem very balanced in regard to these subjects without feeling overly favorable to either side. It only makes mention of events and ideas and never seems to deride one side or the other. The sources seem fine but often the links brought me to a non descript page so I think the sources should be double checked again for accuracy and integrity. It offers no images and very little in the way of examples of the actual written works or links to the written works. The talk page is very quiet and there haven't been any edits in the last two years. The article is rated a "stub-class" article it definitely needs improvement and there is room to work with it.
