Public toilets in Bulgaria are found at a rate of five per 100,000 people. Squat toilets are common, along with charging an access fee and not providing toilet paper.

Public toilets[edit]

The local word for public toilet is toaletna.[1]

A 2021 study found there were five public toilets per 100,000 people.[2] Squat toilets were one of the most common type of public toilets, though in some places a mix of sit and squat toilets can be found.[3][4][1] Most do not provide toilet paper.[1] The typical charge to use a public toilet is 50 Stotinki to 2 Lev per visit.[1]
