A 2021 study found there were eight public toilets per 100,000 people.[1]

Many countries that used to belong to the Soviet Union require payment to an attendant to access.  The money is then used to defray the cost of cleaning and maintenance.  The fee does not go towards providing services in the public toilet.[2]

An issue in developing countries is toilet access in schools.  Only 46% of schools in developing countries have them.[3]

The local word for public toilet is tualeti.[4]

The typical charge to use a public toilet is GEL (₾) From 20 To 50 Tetri.[4]


There is a mix of sit and squat toilets.[4]

Public toilets often do no have toilet paper.[4]
