Sujiatmi Notomihardjo (15 February 1943 – 25 March 2020) was the mother of Joko Widodo, the 7th President of Indonesia.
Biography[edit]
Sujiatmi was born on 15 February 1943 in Giriroto village, Ngemplak subdistrict, Boyolali, Central Java. Her parents Wirorejo and Sani were lumber merchants, and she married Widjiatno Notomihardjo in 1959, before they moved to Surakarta. Joko Widodo, their first children, was born on 21 June 1961.[1]
She died in Surakarta on 25 March 2020, at the age of 77, due to throat cancer. She had suffered from the disease for 4 years, and had been treated at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Jakarta. She was buried at her family cemetery in Surakarta the following day.[2] Her funeral was limited to family members (except for State and Cabinet Secretaries Pratikno and Pramono Anung).[3]
