The Cold Waves Music Festival began in September of 2012 as a memorial event to honor the passing of Chicago musician and sound engineer Jamie Duffy to raise money for his family.
"COLD WAVES is a celebration of Chicago’s relationship with industrial music, honoring a fallen brother to raise money and awareness for Hope For the Day, a charity utilizing music and the arts as a defense mechanism against suicide." [1]

The original Cold Waves Festival was held at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago on Friday September 7th. VIP passes included a meet and greet with the artists, an exclusive CD, a festival laminate, dog tags and a poster. [2] An additional Jamie Duffy Memorial Benefit Show was hosted on July 21st, 2012 at the Cubby Bear Chicago that featured the bands 16 Candles and Rodd Tuffcurls. REFERENCE?
