Universities staff Strike in Kenya The mass action by the staff in all public universities in Kenya has been caused by failed negotiation talks about salaries increments. Through the corresponding Unions that represent the plight of the universities staff, the strike was called upon to pressurize the government of Kenya to take action. The strike was called for by Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu),Universities Non-Teaching Staff Union (Untesu) and the Kenya Union of Domestic Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers Union (Kudhehia).[1]
