The General Directorate of Epidemiology of Guinea-Bissau began monitoring and tracing travellers once they arrived at Osvaldo Vieira International Airport in Guinea-Bissau on the 30th of January. [2]

North Caribbean country Cuba has sent a medical team to Guinea-Bissau, a tropical country in West Africa to help in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, said media reports on Tuesday. [3]

Africa is the last continent to be affected by COVID-19, however, Africa is expected to be the most vulnerable continent where COVID-19 spreading will have a major impact.[4]

COVID-19 risk in Guinea-Bissau is high. Nonessential international travel to Guinea-Bissau should be avoided to limit the spread which is recommended by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). [5]
