Katherine Elizabeth "Katie" Harper Vaughan was born on December 30, 1950 in Ripley, Mississippi to Prentiss Harper, a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin and his wife, the former Mary LeDoux, a native of Biloxi. Her parents met in New Albany. She is English on her father's side, French on her mother's side, and Native American on both sides of the family. She was a schoolteacher She was married to Roger Vaughan from 1969 and 1999, together they had 3 children, Mark, Jennifer, and Chris. They also had 6 grandchildren, Keith Vaughan, Kellie Vaughan, James Vaughan, Lauren MacKay, Brandon MacKay, and Robert Vaughan. She currently resides in Booneville. In the past, she has resided in Tupelo, Tuscaloosa, Fayette, Jackson, and Cullman.
