One of Friedrich’s best known paintings, Two Men Contemplating the Moon is ranked among the most iconic works of art of German Romanticism. There exist several variants, out of which the 1819/20 version, housed in the Galerie Neue Meister in Dresden, is considered the original one.^[1]
