User Page for Jonathon Keeney[edit]

Hello, I'm Jonathon Keeney, a graduate student in Jim Sikela's and Diego Restrepo's laboratories at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. I am currently studying the function of DUF1220, a novel protein domain of unknown function that appears to be under positive selection and correlates strongly with the number of cortical neurons in the primate lineage. This domain appears in increasing copy number throughout the primate lineage with phyletic proximity to humans, who currently have the most copies (~272).

That's a very brief summary, I'll add more to this later!
