From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is my first sandbox, Wiki Sandbox Activity BMED 4752. I'm just trying to figure out how to use Wikipedia properly, so that later when I make a real page I will know what I am doing. My BMED 4752 class is an introductory college course for Neuroscience.

Introduction

[edit]

The first paragraph should include the title bolded in the first sentence. Then it should have relevant internal links to Wikipedia. This is how you make a bulleted list:

  • first
  • second
  • third

This is how you make a numbered list:

  1. first
  2. second
  3. third

Section 1

[edit]

I need to cite that reference that I use later! Go to named references and find and insert it.[1]

Subsection 1

[edit]

A red link indicates a page that doesn't exist yet.

Subsection 2

[edit]

This is how you link to a review article and cite using numbers.[1]

Section 2

[edit]

Images have to be copyright free! Either use wikimedia commons or something you create yourself. If not, it will be pulled down. Everything in wikimedia commons is copyright free! To change where a picutr is, put |left or whatever.

Subsection 3

[edit]

Pillars of Wikipedia:

  1. It is an encyclopedia (don't present research that's not a review article)
  2. Have a neutral point of view
  3. Things have to be copyright free (Don't paraphrase closely. If there is any doubt it will be taken out)
  4. Interact with other people in a civil manner
  5. There aren't any rules

Two terms in Wikipedia:

  • Everything has to be notable (more than one source)
  • Has to be verifiable (Use citations. Usually they will give you a warning first.)

Subsection 4

[edit]

People edit things through talk pages. Write a comment in your talk page that explains that you are in the process of creating an article. Put in 4 ~'s to add in your signature. If you are responding to a talk page, use a colon (:) to indent to help people follow the threads.
