Answering these first, 'cause they're easier :-P
- If you were offered a bowl of butter pecan ice cream, would you consume said ice cream? Personally, it is my favorite flavor.
Ice cream, YUM! :-)
- Would you consider the above question an illegal disruption of Wikipedia, and, were you given the opportunity to, would you deem it necessary to block me?
Eh what? I always accept offers of ice cream. (except chocolate ice cream, sometimes I don't feel like chocolate)
- What if you blocked me for disruption, and others disagree, since I have accrued somewhat of a positive reputation and they feel you're treating me too harshly?
Well, I likely wouldn't block you, but if others disagreed they'd convince me to unblock you rather easily, in this case. Especially if they offer to swap their butter pecan for my chocolate ice cream, I would be easily mollified
- How long would you defend your argument that I was being a disruptive nuisance?
Oooh, I hate being wrong for one, and I'd certainly give people a hard time convincing me, just to be sure that they were being serious and had thought things through properly. But once it's established that they are "for reals", I'd have to unblock, wouldn't I? :-)
- Now, consider the opposite situation, someone else blocked me for disruption and you feel I did not deserve it. How would you react then?
That's more along my line of thinking. I'd have fun convincing them that you're one of the good guys. :-)
- What do you think a person goes through when they are blocked?
AUGH! Wiki-withdrawal! Loss of sleep! Loss of hair! Loss of sanity!
I've tried kicking the habit... I know all about it.
- Having answered the above question, would you like to think twice before blocking someone?
I already have. I've had my block button surgically removed.
- Say you come across a certain user, and based on a sour first impression, you are convinced that he or she is a menace who needs to go. To what degree would that affect your administrative decisions?
Urk, that actually happened to me once. I took 'em to medcom, and now they're an upstanding wikipedian.
- How subtle would you be regarding your dislike of said nemesis?
Pretty much not, seeing as I tend to drag 'em to mediation or whatnot.
- If you ever served as a mediator or arbitrator, how quickly would you recuse? (Not recusing is not an option).
Medcab doesn't recuse. (though I'd strongly consider taking some other case, if any :-P)
But medcom or arbcom? About the amount of time it takes to type "Recuse --~~~~"
- When recusing, don't you wish you didn't have to so you could give your enemy hell?
Fantasize about? Oh yeah, totally. Whips, firearms, ParkinglotTherapy, TurretTreatment, the whole AttitudeAdjustment kaboodle! I *am* a human being, unfortunately or fortunately.
But at the end of the day, those are all pretty nasty, and I'd feel terribly guilty doing them to anyone. So if I ever encounter a genie, I wouldn't actually wish for them
- Do bros come before ho's?
I've thought hard about this, and I have some pretty sophisticated ideas... but my answer unfortunately won't quite fit in this margin.
- Why did you answer the above question the way you did?
Not enough margin.
- Say you received flack for your answer. Do you think they need to find bigger fish to fry?
Smaller. Specifically Salmon. I love Salmon. Especially fried. :-)
- Does the question somehow breach civility policies, in your opinion?
Meh, people only ever invoke policy when they're displeased about something. I'm not displeased. :-P
- Don't you sometimes wish you could stab people through the Internet? (You do not need to put down an answer).
Don't you sometimes wish you had more meaningful things to do than read bash.org all day? O:-)
Also: I do fantasize about it, but never wish. I wouldn't want it to come true.
- Does anyone NEED adminship? People oppose all the time because said candidate does not "need" adminship; what a load of tripe. It is not like people say "I need adminship or else I won't be able to pay my rent!"
No person needs adminship, in fact, adminship is bad for you. It is the community that needs admins, and somehow manages to sucker people in to it all the time. :-P (Happened to me too, even though I originally refused)
- Ignore all rules vs. follow all rules do you agree that this debate is pointless distraction?
If the follow all rules people could just shut up, we could all ignore all rules and write an encyclopedia instead. :-P
- If given immunity from your actions, what would you do to Wikipedia, and would you do it for good or for awesome?
I would do the same thing I am doing now. Immunity is rather meaningless, you need to gain consensus for anything else it won't last. You could be immune, but your actions would still ultimately be for naught.
It's annoying at times, but great fun at other times, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
- If you were to shout "GIVE PEACE A CHANCE" at warring editors, what do you wager is the probability you will be ignored?
Obviously, that's a very fringe POV position. Many powerful people contend that war, death, and murder are absolute necessities, especially since it gains them more wealth and power. :-P
So people would take notice, and ban me for POV pushing is my answer :-P
- Are you tired? Don't worry, the drill is almost over.
Nope, not even sleepy. I enjoy answering weird questions. :-)
- Do not write an answer to this question, as I am afraid you will lie. Answer this exclusively in your head, when answering these questions, did you pick answers because they honestly reflect how you feel, or did you pick them as an attempt to augment your support?
Both all at once. If people won't support me for who I am, I don't want their support! (So there.)
