About i

I am a Durham University graduate, where I studied Biomedical sciences. My home village is Sprotbrough in the town of Doncaster. I have utilised Wikipedia extensively for both academic and leisure purposes and therefore would like to contribute some of the little knowledge I have to its pages in return for imparting so much knowledge unto me.

Interests

I am particularly interested in various aspects of biomedical sciences, most notably oncology, virology, immunology and biochemistry. I wrote my dissertation on the role of protein kinase C in the regulation of mast cell function, which fits nicely with my aforementioned interests. Outside of my studies, my biggest passions include Liverpool F.C. and football as a whole, music, tennis, politics and of course, TV and film.

Music

Music is probably my biggest passion. My favourite music artists include The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Arcade Fire, The Smiths, Elton John, Kanye West, Radiohead and David Bowie. I have in the last few years, and with no end in sight, begun to attend many gigs and festivals. In 2009, I attended Glastonbury and the Saturday of the Leeds Festival weekend, and have also attended the full Leeds Festival weekend in the past.

TV

I am an avid watcher of various TV programmes from years gone by, not least the various Star Trek installments and a number of classic comedies, including the likes of The Simpsons, Seinfeld and Fawlty Towers.

Film

Favourites include The Shawshank Redemption, Blade Runner, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix, Star Wars, Casablanca, The Lion King and most films by Stanley Kubrick.

About ii

I do not currently have children, however I am not abstained to the future possibility. With regards to religious views I consider myself, and have done for some time, an agnostic, and politically usually take a liberal view on issues, however I would not affiliate myself with any one of the major political parties in the UK at the moment, as I am currently somewhat disillusioned with the current UK political system, as many people seem to be. For certain however, I have been disgusted by the coalition government, and think that the sooner the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats are removed from power, the better.
