25 Lame ... 25 Lame was a television special that aired on MTV in 2000. The show was hosted by comedians Jon Stewart, Dennis Leary, Janeane Garofalo and Chris Kattan. The show presented the 25 videos voted by viewers as the lamest videos aired on MTV since the channel's beginning in 1981 to the time the show aired in 2000. The video would be introduced by one of the hosts and while playing, the hosts would make observations and jokes about the video while also sharing trivia and other facts about the video or the band. Once the video ended, one of the hosts would destroy the video using one of the available tools, such as a hammer or baseball bat, and the video would be officially "retired" from MTV, never to air on the channel again. Bands and artists that had videos included on the countdown included Debbie Gibson, Journey (band), Eddie Murphy and Vanilla Ice, who, in one of the show's most infamous moments, came on the set to personally retire his video "Ice Ice Baby" himself. However, in the process, he lost his temper and started destroying the set with a baseball bat. He needed to be restrained by the hosts, who eventually calmed him down before he left the set.

Actor Don Johnson's video "Heartbeat" was named the lamest video ever on MTV by viewers.

The special was aired multiple times on MTV throughout 2000. It has been replayed at various times over the years on other stations such as MTV 2, VH1, and VH1 Classic.
