Ken McInnes is a Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Computer Scientist, with a very long interest in Engineering Heritage.

He co-founded the Engineering Heritage Victoria Group, of the Institution of Engineers Australia more than 30 years ago, chaired the group for many years, and has been an active committee member within the group since it started.

He has chaired Engineering Heritage Australia, and maintained the Engineering Heritage Victoria website.

He was the chair of the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) Timber Bridges Committee, steering a major thematic study of timber bridges, culminating in the publication of the book "Wooden Wonders" Don Chambers, 2007.

Ken is an Adjunct Teaching Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology, in Melbourne, Victoria, lecturing to undergraduates and post-graduates in Internet Technologies. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow, University of Melbourne (2017-)
