The UBC Okanagan Fipke Building was named after Charle E. Fipke, a Canadian geologist. Fipke, originally from Kelowna who discovered North America’s first commercial diamond pipes in Canada’s North, the Fipke Centre is the first new academic building to be completed as part of the UBC Okanagan campus master plan. [1] UBCO opened the buildings doors to students in 2008 [2] after two years of construction.
Inside Interior[edit]
The UBCO Fipke building has 3 floors, including a large lecture hall, many laboratory classrooms, and a Starbucks coffee shop.

Cost[edit]
31.5 milion. Charles Fipke donated $5 million for the development of the facility plus $2 million for equipment. $26.5 million from the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development. [3]
