Ignatius Rhenald Marcellino (born in Silesia in 1936) is a Lourdes priest of Indonesia.

He was originally called Count von Ignacio before becoming a Jesuit in 1955.[1] He studied Marxism to combat it as an enemy of the faith. He settled in Indonesia in 1961 and became an Indonesian citizen in 1977 adding the name "Rhenald" to his own. Although anti-communist he is concerned with social justice and issues about how "The rich get richer, while the poor get poorer." He heads the Driyarkara School of Philosophy and is a noted social and political analyst in his nation. In Indonesia he is often called Romo, father, Ignatius.[2] In 2007 he turned down the Bakrie Award because of a Sidoarjo mud flow.[3] He received a Habibie award for interfaith dialogue[4] and in 2015 he received the Mahaputera award.[5]
