[edit]Anime-Influenced Animation List
[edit]- Avatar: The Last Airbender. Production staff were explicitly instructed to view anime.[1][2]
- The Boondocks. Season 2 is under production by Japanese animation studio Madhouse. Creator Aaron McGruder cites Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo as sources of inspiration for fight scenes.[3]
- Code Lyoko. Popular French cartoon. Referred as a "fake anime", along with Totally Spies.[4]
- Di-Gata Defenders. Canadian cartoon with anime-style animation.[citation needed]
- Exosquad, created in response to Japanese animation[5] and explicitly marketed as "original American anime" by its creators.[6]
- Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. American cartoon based on the popular J-Pop group Puffy AmiYumi.[7]
- Kappa Mikey. Creator Larry Schwarz explicitly intended mixing American style animation with anime.[8]
- Megas XLR. Creators Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic cite influence from giant robot series, Macross or Robotech.[9]
- Ōban Star-Racers. A French-Japanese co-production with graphical visuals comparable to most anime series. This features music by Ayumi Hamasaki.[10][11] The company and production team relocated to Tokyo, Japan.[12]
- Teen Titans. Creator Glen Murakami explicitly cites manga/anime influence into its creation.[13]
- Team Galaxy. It blends "anime-inspired 2D animation with computer-generated elements".[14]
- The Batman. Creators have stated on behind-the-scenes featurettes on the season one box set that the show was influenced by anime styles, much like Teen Titans. [citation needed]
- Totally Spies. Anime influenced including anime face faults and gags. This is often referenced as "trying" to be anime.[15]

Notable anime ProD
[edit]I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Notable anime, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Notable anime. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]I worked pretty hard to arrange those pictures on that page and deleting them was very unfair of you!!! How do I revert the changes?
- Please be specific. If it is the Negima episode page - which is the one I am looking at right now, there are images up to episode 20 - and they're still there. KyuuA4 00:28, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am talking about the terrorist images i put!! please respond on my discussion page. perhaps we can compromise because you are deleting my hard work@!@@!!!!@
- Sorry, but it's inappropriate to have the Terrorist images on the airliner page. It is as if they're being made famous for what they had done. Furthermore, they already have their images on their individual pages. Their images belong here: Organizers of the September 11, 2001 attacks. KyuuA4 15:33, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am going to add the images back.Just because you don't think they should be there doesn't mean that they shouldn't. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.222.248.104 (talk) 15:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC).
Official spellings
[edit]On the Bleach pages we have chosen to use official romanizations whenever possible because otherwise you get into arguments over what the "best" transliteration for some chain of katakana is, and how many people on how many fan forums call them what. Fansubbers aren't a good source either. With all due respect to Dattebayo's speed and general comprehensibility of dialogue, their name romanizations are generally rather horrid. (Case in point: "Bounto".) In this case the official spellings are rather lame as well, but they are the only real romanizations that we know of. If you can find a place where an official source (like a video game for instance, or the Japanese advertising copy) spelled the names Cloud and Nova, then I'll support changing them back. But not until then. --tjstrf talk 18:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, I cannot read Kanji and happened to read off the English from the Animesuki forum. Therefore, I presumed it was a translation. - KyuuA4, I found WikiProject Chicago. It is strange that we didn't find it before. Since I live in Wisconsin, I would not have participated. But my girls now live and work in Chicago and I think the Field Museum is the best part of the city. One of my daughters thinks I should be part of the exhibits: and that's my Dad, in the museum. Once we went to Museum of Science and Technology, but the level of the exhibits is just introductory Wikipedia, so I am not going back. And I have some photos there of some of the unspeakable exhibits at Museum of Science and Technology.
- Yesterday was a good day. I rode the Blue line bus, a substitute for the rail, and the people were a pleasure to see.
- Please feel free to leave me a message. I don't read my e-mail on a regular basis, but I will respond to a wikipedian message. Since we have a shared interest in science, I believe we could talk about some good things. I have left some musings with Ted Ernst on his AboutUs.org pages. --Ancheta Wis 02:57, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Refs to OEL
[edit]Hi, KyuuA4,
I put a bunch of refs on my user Talk page about OEL manga and related stuff. Timothy Perper 23:37, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- There was a delay, but they're up now on my User talk page. Timothy Perper 07:48, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- Great. Glad they're useful. Are you going to move the non-Japanese manga section out of the manga article? I sure hope so -- it doesn't belong there and goes right into the OEL manga article.
- Timothy Perper 21:13, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- Um, at least, SOME mention -- like about 2-3 sentences (or a whole paragraph) should remain in the main manga article because of the relation between Japanese "manga" and OEL "manga -- and manga from other countries. It's a basic fact that even some manga publishers, such as Kodansha supports the concept of non-Japanese manga. Complete elimination would violate NPOV. The opening paragraph y'wrote out pretty much spells out the main outline of the whole article. KyuuA4 04:10, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

- I like your take on the POV aspects of the "Influence" section (hereafter, called simply "Influence"). I tried to make my draft revision -- with is at user:Timothy Perper/SandboxInternational -- much less POVish, but I'd like your comments.
- Also, a note on the style of the draft on the SandboxInternational page. It's designed to be filled in with references and additional material, so don't be surprised if stuff is missing. We'll add it, and we'll revise it too.
- So I hope you take a look.

"Minor" edits
[edit]Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Macross, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you.

A word of caution.
[edit]Checking their contributions, I couldn't help but notice that User:Baron Armadillo appears to be a sock puppet for User:Amibite. Both have contributed the Horseland (TV Series) article, and from what I've seen of his post outside Wikipedia (he's user LadroAnima on GameFAQs, though I forget his Toonzone name), he's also a fan of iCarly.
But that's hardly any proof unless you take the following into account: Note Baron Armadillo's disscussion in the Anime-influenced animation article, and compre their posts. Look familiar? Same general argument as the one by Amibite above.
It should also be noted that he stopped using is Amibite account a few months before Baron Armadillo appeared.--Tenka Muteki (talk) 20:18, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
