The Lazys are an Australian rock band fomed in Sydney, Australia, known for their hard work and their energetic live shows. Their image as a hard-working band is due to their commitment to massive touring schedules and recording sessions. The Lazys are Leon Harrison (Vocals), Matt Morris (Lead Guitar), Liam Shearer (Guitar), Glenn Williams (Bass) and Jay Braslin (Drums).

=== History ===

The journey began in 2007 when the boys hit the road with fellow Central Coast band Something with Numbers. Quickly building a loyal fan base, further national tours followed with The Lazys sharing the stage with bands such as Against Me (US), Hollywood’s Juliette Lewis, UK’s The Answer and Aussie bands such as Gyroscope, The Living End, Grinspoon and more. They also secured many of their own headline tours and made festival appearances at both Come Together and Coaster Festival.

In 2008, the band took their next step in the studio with producer Phil Mckellar (Grinspoon, Silverchair). The double-A side single 'All Fired Up/ Union of the Underdogs' was released in 2008 and caught the attention of Michael Chugg who put the boys forward for the inaugural JD Set (Jack Daniels Set). The boys then set off around Australia showcasing their live show. In November 2008, after securing votes in excess of 3000, The Lazys were crowned the JD Set winners and were presented the award in Melbourne by Gyroscope and Jabba (Channel V).

2009 saw the boys sign their publishing over to Sony ATV and release their self-titled debut EP (recorded in the legendary Albert’s studios, home of AC/DC). Triple M’s Best Aussie Songs of 2009 saw track 1 from the EP ‘Hey Man’ come in at number 14. Sunshine City also made its mark on FOX Sports, being used as the theme song for its summer 09/10 campaign. In 2010, The Lazys recorded their debut album ‘Prison Earth’. Vocalist Leon Harrison said, 'We wanted to write a record that represented us as people before musicians. This is very important to the band and its why we play music.' The single 'All Fired Up' received air-play from Triple M and was used throughout the 2010 NRL Finals series. The band visited Cherry Bar in Melbourne that year, drawing the attention of Triple M and media personality Eddie McGuire, who later called them “The Crazies”.

In 2011, the band made a special appearance at The Gabba in Brisbane for the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, firing up the crowd as part of their involvement with the Brisbane Heat.

===Awards==='

Jack Daniels 'JD Set' Award 2008

The Jack Daniel's 'JD Set' was a nationwide music competition which searched for the best live band in Australia. After Australian music legend Michael Chugg noticed The Lazys, he got them a spot in the competition, and they scored a record number of votes to make it into the third round of the competition. They set off around Australia performing their music from Sydney to Perth. Vocalist Leon even twisted his knee after jumping 15 feet off the top of the PA at the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills, Sydney. The band just jumped back on the tour bus and headed off to Perth (crutches and all) for the final set.[1]

On the 20th November 2008, at the grand finale of the JD Set at the Prince Bandroom, Melbourne, Channel [V] presenter Jabba was the first man on stage. He first explained how the competition worked, and reading through a list of nominees, he announced the winner to be Sydney act The Lazys.[2]
