I am archivist working in a museum environment in upstate New York. I am an avid fan of Wikipedia and its concept. I taught an introductory library science and research skills class, and contrary to the advice of many teachers/professors, I encouraged students to use Wikipedia during the research process.
The GLAM initiative is a worthwhile endeavor, and I am excited to be part of facilitating the discovery of cultural institutions and the information in their holdings.
Conflict of interest statement[edit]
I am a paid employee of the Corning Museum of Glass. I work to improve glass-related knowledge and access to high-quality glass resources on Wikipedia, which is in line with the Corning Museum of Glass’ educational mission. When I am editing Wikipedia as part of my professional duties, I always strive to abide by Wikipedia’s guidelines on COI, neutrality, and notability. If you have any questions about edits I make, glass-related or otherwise, please leave a message on my talk page.
