Kathryn Lang-Slattery, a published author of fiction and nonfiction for youth, became fascinated with the World War II stories of her uncle and other Ritchie Boys. She has spent the last twenty years doing research and interviewing more than a dozen surviving Ritchie Boys. Lang-Slattery is especially interested in helping expand and correct the article on Wikipedia about the Ritchie Boys and their role in WWI. She also has information to be added to the article on Richard Schulze-Kossens. She is considered an expert on the subject of the Ritchie Boys and presents talks at libraries, museums, and to Veterans' organizations. She writes a blog that often profiles Ritchie Boys or shares information about their training at Camp Ritchie and has published teacher materials for the High School history curriculum.
