TraceTracker is a software company based in Oslo, Norway that provides asset tracking, product traceability and business intelligence solutions based on AutoID technology.

Company history

  • Starting in 2006 TraceTracker was involved in the TRACE Project, a 5-year project sponsored by the European Commission to provide consumers with added confidence in the authenticity of European food through complete traceability along food chains.
  • The company was named a 2009 "Technology Pioneer" by the World Economic Forum.
  • In 2010, TraceTracker was awarded a software development prize from Telenor Objects.
  • Also in 2010, the company contributed to eSporing a national project to develop and implement a national electronic traceability system for the food industry in Norway.
  • In March 2011, the company launched an asset tracking solution called TraceTracker Asset for equipment intensive businesses. The solution has been implemented at construction companies such as Grunnarbeid in Norway. In addition to a web-based interface, the solution is available through smart telephones.
  • In June of 2011 TraceTracker concluded work on the eTrace Project, an international project which specified, developed and tested an electronic traceability system based on a data exchange standard from GS1 called EPCIS. TraceTracker developed an ICT infrastructure to provide a platform for fast, reliable electronic traceability. The results of the project showed that traceable fish sells better.
