Dining[edit]

Western University has created dining options that help students make the transition from eating at home to learning how to create balanced meals while away at school. Operating on a six-week cycle, the residence menu strives to provide hot entrees that cover a wide array of tastes.[3] Delaware’s dining hall is open every day from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. Delaware Hall also offers evening dining service from 8:00-11:00 pm. The dining hall closes 15 minutes before hot meal times in order to allow for changeovers as well as 30 minutes each afternoon to allow for cleaning.[4]

Rooms[edit]

Delaware Hall residents have the option to request single-gendered double rooms or single occupancy rooms. The 17 floors have an average of 26-28 residents per floor and the floors are divided into five units. All floors are co-ed and there are 3 washrooms per floor.[5]

Live Learning Community Floors[edit]

In order to allow students to have the option to be surrounded by members of their own faculty, Western University has special floors assigned to each faculty in different Western residences. Delaware Hall is home to the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Nursing community floors. [6]

Renovations[edit]

After being closed for the 2014-2015 school year for a $19-million renovation, Delaware Hall reopened in September 2015 for its 50th anniversary. The renovations consisted of removing Asbestos, putting in new air handling systems, electrical systems, and lighting systems. The renovated Delaware Hall welcomed students for the 2015/16 school year on September 6, 2015. The renovation did not increase Delaware’s 465 person capacity.[7]

Residence Programming[edit]
