Jeremy Secomb (born 25 November 1972) is an Australian musical theatre actor. He is best known for his work in musical theatre, notably as Javert in the musical Les Miserables on the West End, and as Sweeney Todd in the Tooting Arts Club's production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in London as well as on Off-Broadway.

He has won the Theater World Award for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance in 2017[1]. He was also nominated for the Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Musical[2], Drama League Awards for Distinguished Performance Award[3], Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical[4].

Career[edit]

Jeremy Secomb started his professional musical career in the cast of A Grand Night Of Singing in Sydney in 1996. In the same year, he joined the Australian-New Zealand Tour of The Phantom Of the Opera for two years and covered the role of Ubaldo Piangi[5].

In year 1999, Secomb came over to the UK and joined the UK touring company of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat[6]. At the end of 1999 he then participated in a pantomime production of Peter Pan at Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury[5].

Secomb joined the UK touring cast of The Phantom Of the Opera in 2000 as an ensemble member and covered Piangi. In the same year, he made his West End debut in The Phantom Of the Opera as ensemble/Piangi cover. He took over the role of Piangi after a year and starred as Piangi until he left the show in 2003[5][7].

in year 2011, gielgud theatre, original cast of lend me a tenor alongside with damian humbley and joanna riding as ensemble, and covered the role of tito merelli.

he returned to his role in phantom as piangi from 2011 to 2014, and acted as first cover phantom.

in year 2014, he took part in the tooting arts club's production of sweeney todd directed by bill buckhurst in a local pie shop (harrington...)
