BACARDIAC ARREST.

the band on the rum.

in 2005, in a popular pub for a few, (The Cranbrooke Arms, Deptford) that stayed open longer than most pubs do, on a Friday amongst some friends, there developed a regular trend, to belt out a note with A lubricated throat, there was reflief from the clubs scene plagued with bastards and much more fun to entertain the drunken and plastered, and to ride the lock ins of an old Irish landlord. These factors are what caused the celebratory alarm when on a payday past 11pm, the landlord , Dermot said “not tonight boys, I’ve a christening in the morning, so piss off and sing some other place”

One had no choice but head to Limes grove, The free house, the place to send up the noise and call it music. Present at this time was Mel Oddy, Herman Ise, and the lesser spotted Lee Zinger. Best not heard either.

The music ability of two aforementioned was remarkable, Herman came down from the loft holding two guitars. Herman Ise played like a demon TIL reason was leaving. He wrote sharp and dressed sharper, Mel Oddy, A fine raconteur with rock’n’Roll in his soul,He sang for food and never went hungry.

By the morning the three had written three songs. They needed a drummer and a bassist and a good bath. And had to find them before the hangover past. They went out and drank more and had thoughts to tap up a drummer recently acquainted with Mel Oddy. Within a short amount of time they had the amazing luck and were playing these songs to drummer and guitarista/soul sister, Pete Cushin and Abbey Splayer.
