Missionary Fades

Missionary Fades is a solo music project put together by London based musician Glenn Fernando, influenced by mainly 90's grunge and post grunge. All songs were recorded and produced by Fernando on Logic Pro from home.

The music explores themes of the bipolar condition, despair, insecurity, falling, positive energy, growth, recovery and re-birth. The meaning of the name "Missionary Fades" is described by Fernando as "keeping faith in the face of turmoil." Musically influenced by Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Queens of the Stone Age, Living Colour and Skunk Anansie. Lyrically expresses a downtrodden, brooding but also uplifting vibe.

Missionary Fades has 2 albums - a partially released 11 track album called "Intakes of Sanity," and an unreleased 8 track EP called "Drone Bloodlines." Fernando plays all instruments on each album including drums, bass, rhythm & lead guitar, violin, banjo, mandolin, piano and vocals, with the exception of "Riding on a Wave" on the album "Intakes of Sanity" (guitar solo by Quinton Lucion) and "The Last Doorway" on "Drone Bloodlines" (Piano by Denis Fernando).

Missionary Fades is signed to Factory Fast Records, New York. 7 Individual tracks are on 4 compilations put out by Factory Fast Records. They released the tracks "Cold Light of Day," "Remote Viewers," "Anomaly," "All Protect this lie," "Bipolar Mosaic," "Seeping Through" & "Set in Stone." All songs are from the album "Intakes of Sanity."
