Andrew Dunn was a Police Officer from the City of Sandusky Ohio, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on Saturday, March 19,2011. Officer Dunn approached a man riding a bicycle at around 3:00 a.m. Upon making his approach, Officer Dunn was shot five times from a .38 revolver. Officer Dunn was able to return fire, striking the suspect twice in the arm, who was apprehended shortly later by responding Officers.

Officer Dunn was laid to rest on March 25,2011 at the Calvary Cemetary. Hundreds of Police Officers from numerous local, state, and Federal Jurisdictions were in attendance, and thousands lined the streets to pay their respects. Officer Dunn left behind his wife, his 2 year old son, and his five month old son.

The suspect in the killing of Officer Dunn was treated at a local hospital for his injuries, and indicted for the aggravated murder of Officer Dunn.

Andrew Dunn is the first Officer killed in the line of duty in the history of Sandusky Ohio.
